Ena dan hade en hel irakisk brigad invid Basra kapitulerat till engelsmännen. Några dagar senare hade de aldrig kapitulerat.

Nu låg det till så här: Brigadmedlemmarna vågade inte ge sig. Bakom dem stod nämligen hela tiden skjutklara araber. För att citera ur DN (Per Jönsson, sid 8 DN fredagen den 28 mars 2003).. soldaterna riskerar att skjutas av sina egna officerare om de ger upp.
Andra avlivningssätt vore tänkbara. Gas exempelvis. Saddam & Söner förfogar som bekant (?) över massvis med massförstörelsevapen. Anfallet mot Irak motiverades ju av arabernas innehav av massförstörelsevapen. Det var motivet i februari. Andra motiv och "bevis" har luftats både förr och senare. Märk väl: det är bara krigsförespråkarna som ideligen ändrat sina motiv.Man tänker osökt på när Jesus Kristus öde beseglades. Pilatus frågade då folkmassan; "behöver vi fler bevis?".

Eine Fortsetzung des Irak-Krieges der USA und Großbritanniens wird nach Auffassung des Zentralorgans der KP Chinas, Renmin Ribao, katastrophale Folgen für die Zivilbevölkerung und die Umwelt haben.
Sollten die Politiker aus den USA und Großbritannien die beängstigend zunehmenden Verluste unter der Zivilbevölkerung ignorieren und eigensinnig ihren Krieg fortsetzen, müssten sie dafür die geschichtliche und moralische Verantwortung tragen.
Ebenfalls am Donnerstag forderte der Sprecher des chinesischen Außenministeriums, Kong Quan, in Beijing vor der Presse, die betreffenden Länder erneut zu einem Stopp des Krieges gegen den Irak auf. China sei bereit, mit allen beteiligten Ländern nach einer Möglichkeit zur Rückkehr zur Lösung der Irak-Frage auf politischem Wege zu suchen.
Weiter sagte Kong Quan, der Verband chinesischer Moslems habe bereits am Samstag eine Stellungnahme und einen offenen Brief aller Moslems in ganz China veröffentlicht. Darin werde ihr starker Wunsch ausgedrückt, den Krieg möglichst bald zu stoppen und den Frieden wiederherzustellen. Der Verband unterstütze entschieden die Forderung der chinesischen Regierung nach einem möglichst schnellen Stopp des Krieges und nach einer Rückführung der Irak-Frage auf einen politischen Lösungsweg.
Kong Quan teilte außerdem mit, dass die humanitären Hilfsgüter Chinas für die irakischen Flüchtlinge in Kürze nach Jordanien transportiert werden. China werde nach wie vor die in seiner Kraft stehende Hilfe leisten, um das Leid der irakischen Bevölkerung zu lindern, sagte der Sprecher in Beijing.

President Bill Clinton was impeached by a Republican-controlled Congress for lying about sex. President George W. Bush and aides lied the United States into a stupid, unnecessary colonial war that has so far killed more than 305 Americans and seriously wounded more than 1,400. It has also cost many thousands of Iraqi dead, and $1 billion US weekly.
Lying about sex is an impeachable offence; lying the nation into war apparently is not.
I was no Clinton fan, but give me his iffy morals any day over Bush's Mussolini-like strutting. Sen. Edward Kennedy is absolutely correct when he calls Bush's Iraq war a "fraud" concocted to win the next elections.
A fraud and an epic blunder.
Last week, Bush received a glacial and scornful reception at the United Nations that symbolized the world's contempt and disgust for his administration. Not since Nikita Khrushchev pounded his shoe on the speaker's rostrum has a major leader so embarrassed himself and his nation before the world body.
In his UN speech, Bush again claimed Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and "ties" to terrorism. Days later, U.S. intelligence teams that scoured Iraq for four months reported no traces of weapons or terrorism links - the pretext used by Bush and his neo-conservative handlers for unprovoked war against Saddam Hussein.
The White House was left choking on its own grotesque lies.
